"Follow the Drinking Gourd" is an immersive VR work by Allan Picharo that explores the unwritten histories of the African diaspora, drawing from the living lineage of music to trace cultural ties lost during the transatlantic slave trade. As we continue to recover and expand parts of ourselves lost through trauma, this grounded meditation with Chloe Kirlew-Gedess is an offering for Black and Indigenous people engaging with “Follow the Drinking Gourd” to hold space for each other.

Chloe Kirlew-Gedess is a Reiki practitioner teaching the transformative magic of love and healing. Through her practice, Chloe invites Queer, Black, Indigenous, People of Color to return to their roots and connect with those that came before us as a means of navigating complex times.
